Discover has a new section, and it belongs to you. Every week, one artist from the community gets a dedicated spotlight right on the Discover page — their profile, three of their posts, and a direct line to new followers.
It runs automatically. Every Monday a new artist takes the slot, and it keeps rotating for as long as there are artists to feature.
It isn't a popularity contest
This is the part worth reading twice.
The spotlight is not ranked by followers, likes, or views. There's no leaderboard to climb and no advantage to already being big — in fact, the whole point of the feature is to put newer artists in front of people who haven't found them yet.
Instead, everyone who meets the eligibility bar goes into a pool, and each week's artist is drawn from that pool at random. And here's the important bit: nobody gets featured twice until every eligible artist has had a turn. Once the whole pool has been through, the rotation starts over.
So if you're eligible, you're not competing for the slot. You're in line for it.
How to become eligible
There's a bar to clear, and it's deliberately about being a real, complete, active account rather than about reach. Here's the full checklist:
1. Be a verified artist
Verification is the foundation of the whole thing — the spotlight is for artists sharing their own original work. If you haven't applied yet, you can start your verification here.
2. Have at least 8 posts
These need to be public, published posts — drafts, works-in-progress and private posts don't count toward the total. The spotlight shows three of your pieces, so we want to be sure there's a real body of work behind them.
3. Have at least 10 followers
A low bar on purpose. It's there to confirm you're an active part of the community, not to reward reach.
4. Fill out your profile
Three things specifically, because these are what actually get rendered in the spotlight:
A profile picture. Your avatar is the first thing anyone sees in the section.
A bio. Tell people who you are and what you make. This is your pitch to a room full of strangers — make it count.
At least one social link. Twitter, Bluesky, Instagram, Ko-fi, your own site — whatever you want people to follow you on. The spotlight displays them as icons, so this is free traffic back to wherever else you post.
5. Have an account at least 14 days old
A short waiting period for brand new accounts. Nothing to do here but keep posting.
6. Be in good standing
Your account needs to be active and public, with a verified email address, and with no moderation actions against it in the last 90 days. If you've had a warning or a post removed, the clock resets — but it does reset. A rough patch doesn't lock you out permanently.
Pick your own three posts
Here's a detail worth knowing: if you've set featured posts on your profile, the spotlight uses those. That means you decide which three pieces represent you rather than leaving it to chance.
If you haven't set any, we'll fall back to your most-liked work — which is a perfectly good default, but it might not be the three you'd have picked. It takes about a minute to choose them, and it's the single highest-leverage thing you can do to prepare.
The short version
Get verified. Post at least 8 public pieces. Add an avatar, a bio and a social link. Pick your three featured posts. Then keep making work — the rotation will come around to you.
We're genuinely excited about this one. The hardest part of being a newer artist is that good work goes unseen, and this is a small, permanent piece of the platform pointed directly at that problem.
See you on Discover.
