Creator Spotlight: ImpAntique3D

At Kylee, we believe the best art comes from real people with real stories — and the creators behind the work deserve to be seen just as much as the work itself.

That's why we launched Creator Spotlight — an ongoing series where we sit down with the artists shaping the world of hentai and 3DX art. From their creative process to the characters they've built from scratch, we're pulling back the curtain and letting creators speak for themselves.

For our next spotlight, we're talking with ImpAntique3D (also known as ChioAnabe) — a pinup artist with a roster of original characters that are as distinct as they are irresistible. Equal parts instinctive and intentional, his work is the kind you come back to — and keep coming back to.

Tell us who you are. What do you go by, and where are you creating from?

Name’s… usually go by ImpAntique3D, and I’m a pinup artist. Sometimes I dabble in fanart of video game characters, but you’d often find me doing my original characters instead.

What sort of pinups? Something lewd! I do both Female and Futanari characters. If I’m not doing pinups, I usually would just make interaction content. I don’t often make sex stuff, but I do make them sometimes, just not all the time.

I’m also known as ChioAnabe. There’s a bit of history behind it as the name I usually go by (ImpAntique3D) wasn’t intended to be permanent, but here we are. And also, I’m currently sporting the name Landmine3DX on Twitter just for fun.

How did you first get into hentai (3D, 2D, etc.) art? Was there a specific moment, artist, or piece that pulled you in?

There was a saying from someone, a 3DX artist a while ago that, “When even I can do it, someone else can do it too.” Or something of the sort. Which made me try it out back in 2020, and… yeah, I found out I could do it too. Big thanks to that artist too, I will never forget them, whoever they are.

How would you describe your style to someone who's never seen your work?

Simple, … usable. Something you’d pop in for whatever fantasy you got prepped up.

Walk us through your creative process. What does making a piece actually look like for you, start to finish?

Often times than I’d like to admit, I used to just wing it. But having a general concept of what I will be making which comes from what I want to make, helps a lot. Sometimes I also think about what do people want to see.

Contrary to popular beliefs, just making stuff that you want to see may not be good for you. I’m always reminded of the things I want an artist to make, and I usually get ignored. Which was one of the contributing factor of me making my own things most of the time, so, now I’m on the other end, I gotta to think about that when making stuff.

Where do you find inspiration? What gets you excited to create?

A lot of things can get me excited. Mostly, I just make whatever comes to mind. So, things can get pretty random. Like a simple look of how a woman sees you, or how I be doing something like playing games and finding myself looking at the character a certain way, I be rushing to my computer then and make a candy to the eye asap.

What's the hardest part of your creative process — and how do you push through it?

I keep lying to myself that I need to have stuff done NOW, or TODAY, or something like that while in reality, there’s really no need to. Back then, it made me a wreck because I really believed it which made it possible for me to be pumping out pics so many so fast.

Nowadays, the problem is actually me getting lazier, so it’s a new problem. Gotta have discipline, gotta consider and think hard whether I really need to rush something or don’t. At the end of the day, it’s balance, and as long as I can recognize if I’m tipping to one side or the other, it’s easy to get through it.

Is there a piece you've made that you're especially proud of? Tell us about it.

I have made a lot, and there’s a lot of them I’m really proud of. Recent ones, I made these interaction pictures of my characters just be doing stuff. Not all of them are lewd interactions. Had so much fun making them just interact, making them have expression they don’t usually have in pinups. And there’s this one that I can’t get out of my head where one of my prominent characters, Proxy, having a bush while someone eating her out. It’s… bliss.

What does your relationship with your audience mean to you? How does fan support shape what you create?

I don’t often think how I’m meant to them, maybe I’m just a pinup-making machine to them, but they mean a lot to me. It influences what I make, for better or worse. Sometimes a loss of followers or likes, seeing a graph of declines, it proves that what I make are not connecting with people and there I have to change course, and it happens way too often.

I think at some point, I stopped taking things too seriously and just get cooking, cause at the end of the day, they’re here for the goods, and I gotta give it to em.

What are you working on or exploring right now? What's exciting you creatively?

I think I have my fun exploring, so I’m going back to my roots. Pinups that I want to make, and how I like it. I want to fill my gallery with stuff I can personally use, and what’s exciting is knowing the fact that people vibe with it too. I was preparing for something cataclysmic, but hey, it’s actually a lot greener behind this hill.

What would you want a first-time viewer of your work to feel?

“MOAR!” I made so many pictures, but even more than that is often times, I have original characters that’re distinct from one another. Leaving with a feeling of wanting more would be nicer than to have missed out on these characters just because the first time you see my stuff is with other characters you are less into.

Any advice for artists just starting out in this space?

You got stiff competition, but don’t let it get to you that hard. Even with AI around, there’s still a lot of space for you here.

Where can the Kylee community find you and support your work?

Visit @Chioanabe on Kylee here, man. It got ImpAntique3D on its username. I know it’s confusing, but heyy, that’s me.
